By embracing sustainability it will enable us to innovate and achieve business growth, we have already seen a significant reduction in our costs through the introduction of a number of innovative initiatives. Achieving the carbon trust standard was just the start of the journey for first direct and we welcome the CRC and the opportunities it will bring for us to achieve our vision to make a positive difference to society."
Adam Woodhall
Adam Woodhall founded PeopleProfitPlant three years ago to help businesses engage staff with their environmental strategies. He is a firm believer that all people and organisations have a significant role to play in taking positive environmental action.
All organisations want to save money and engage their staff. PeopleProfitPlanet help companies do this by empowering employees and management to go green. By using the best techniques in coaching, training and management consultancy employees then feel confident to take actions such as switching off lights and equipment, re-using paper and materials and using web and phone conferences rather than driving. Recent clients have been Allianz Insurance, NG Bailey Construction Services and British Waterways.
Adam comments, "It is important to apply technical solutions to our environmental challenges, particularly climate change, and our political leaders must give strong direction. An example of this is the UK governments Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC)."
PeopleProfitPlanet are working with first direct to help them understand that they all have their part to play in responding to the CRC, greening the bank and then taking these cost and carbon saving practices home.
